Alhamdulillah passed my exam few days ago. Had 92 questions, 2 d-n-d’s and 3 labs

d-n-d
– BGP path selection in order
– can’t remember as I was running out of time so had to guess the choices

Lab’s
– ISIS same as above and very straight forward
– OSPF lab with addition to configuring cost, hello and dead interval between R1-R2
– BGP tshoot where you need to specify the existing route map between R1-R2

Q’s
exam was mixed, some questions were very easy to answer, and some I spent over 5 mins thinking over it specially the config ones. I don’t own any files with me, but used mixed resources from here, other websites and double checked questions that had answers that were wrong.

All I can say, time wasn’t enough and when working on the labs time goes by very quickly 🙁

There are 4 labs

1) eBGP neighbor adjacency with ipv4 and ipv6 – pay attention to addressing, and address family commands, there is md5 authentication too involved
2) eBGP neighbor adjacency with ipv4 – so practise for both as both 1&2 are similar, except this one doesnt require md5 auth or ipv6 configuration
3) OSPF adjacency, study up on point-to-point, and md5 for ospf
4) ISIS – didnt get to complete this one in time, but it mentioned to configure ISIS for ipv4 & ipv6, as well authenticating, maybe some stuff on metric style wide/narrow

The labs take the longest but study up hard on ISIS, OSPF & BGP mainly for labs

I failed today, there are 3 LAB, OSPF Cost, Hello, Redist. ISIS AUTH with Key-Gen and Redist. BGP attach a predefined Route-map, Redist not allowed.

True 3 LABS,

1.) OSPF Tasks (2 Routers R1 –> R2 peering)
OSPF cost
OSPF Hello Interval
OSPF dead timer
NOTE: the OSPF process & area is preconfigured on the Interfaces

2.) eBGP Task: 2 Routers R1 –(eBGP)-> R2 peering
Advertise the loopback interface at both side.
use the preconfigured route-map to advertise to the peer router.
NOTE: Physical interface is used to peer between the Routers and Redistribution is not allowed!!!!
VERIFICATION IS PART OF THE TASK: pings and show commands

3.) IS-IS Task (3 Routers R1, R2 & R3 all connected Together On different Levels)
Configure IS-IS Authentication on the R1, R2 & R3 Interfaces using below:
Setup Key-chain using
Key-name: AUTH_ISIS
Key-ID: 2
key-string: C1sc0!
Configure IS-IS metric on R1, R2 & R3 Interfaces.
Redistribute the preconfigured static routes into IS-IS

@Jomy: 591lab is very helpful dumps but the LABs is having new task, not available on any dumps now, practice it on a simulator (GNS3 or any other).

This should be helpful to you

1.) Ospf cost, hello interval, dead timer & p2p: you only configure it on the Interface configuration mode (R1–>R2)

NOTE: USE ? to check the options you have on the Router.

2.) For the eBGP: use network statement to inject the loopback ip block into BGP , then apply the preconfigured route-map on the peer as inbound.

@Seun – Thanks for the info, recently took it and passed. Labs were spot on with one difference. IS-IS is HMAC-MD5 Auth.

Study Hard people – Had access to 3 dumps and still only about 80% of the questions where actually in those dumps, with a ton of incorrect answers. Might have the questions but you need to figure out the answers.
